This amplifier design is based on the approach used by JH2CLV for a compact plate line. A U-shaped line, with capacitive tuning and sliding output "tap" provides a simple, reliable output circuit, easy to build and easy to tune and operate. A single GU-74B can provide excellent 1KW+ output performance in this configuration. This design has been successfully replicated by VK4TZL, proving its efficacy! |
